My daughter Janona was diagnosed with ICP at birth.And for 14 years we learn to live with these three letters. Our first step on this difficult path was the decision to send our child to a regular kindergarten. At that time I did not know about inclusive education. At this stage we, parents have had more difficulties as in the pre-school age children do not yet notice any difference from each other.
Interesting opportunities for people with special needs, the findings of the studies conducted by the specialized NGOs in Uzbekistan, inspiring examples and stories, informative social spots and other useful information has now become accessible at single online source - www.imkoniyat.uz.
As indicated by the European experience, inclusive education enables children with special needs to obtain education, which is adequate to the level of their mental, physical, and intellectual development. Healthy children develop tolerance, kindness, and responsible for those who stands by them.
Students here are treated as personalities with different needs and everyone gets support in the classrooms of the special school in Obendorf. There are 49 children in 7 classes of the school. There 6-8 students in each classroom. There are children of different ages in some classrooms.
At the end of the last year, in the framework of Inclusive Education for Children with Special Needs in Uzbekistan Project funded by the European Union, regional project experts visited a number of European countries, namely Germany, Austria, and Italy, in order to gain additional knowledge and skills in the area of inclusive education.
Pedagogical University of Salzburg trains teachers for primary and basic schools, and offers vocational education. Classification of those who want to become a special pedagogue in future starts after 2 years of education. In their studies they particularly focus on development of motor skills, cognition, verbal communication, learning process, emotions and behavior.
The workshop in Urgench is the first to open the European Year of Development along with the number of events dedicated to the celebrating the European Union as a global donor, its cooperation with Uzbekistan and the impact of these projects on the life of the people in Uzbekistan and worldwide (Dominique Waters, Head of Technical Cooperation Unit of the Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan at the Inception workshop, 17 February, 2015 Urgench I am sincerely pleased that the Resource center under school # 11 is opening in our city, which will provide quality services in the area of inclusive education.
In the framework of Inclusive Education for Children with Special Needs in Uzbekistan Project financed by the European Union, inception workshops were held on 17 February in the conference hall of Khorezm Palace hotel in Urgench, on 20 February at Meridian hotel in Termez, on 24 February in the conference hall of the Trade Unions House in Namangan, on 27 February in Registan Plaza hotel in Samarkand dedicated to the launch of project activities in five pilot regions, envisaged in the project plan.
