Selection Criteria for New Pilot Schools and Kindergartens



The below table outlines the criteria for the selection of schools and kindergartens for participating as “pilot schools and kindergartens” in the activities of the “Inclusive Education for Children with Special Needs” project.

The criteria were designed and approved by the above mentioned project in order to identify and selectschools and  kindergartens in the 5 pilot regions of the project to pilot the educational  inclusion of around 850 children into mainstream schools and kindergartens. Similar criteria need to be applied for the selection of a new/additional pilot schools and kindergartens in order to amplify the net of educational settings implementing principles of inclusive education and ensure a sustainability of the project.

Identification of a new /additional pilot schools and kindergartens
In order to come up with a short list of candidates in coordination with the major project beneficiary additionally to the above mentioned  selection criteria the following has been applied:

Weightening of criteria:
Willingness of the potential pilot school and kindergarten to activiely participate in the project (Criteria 5)

Children with special needs are already attending the school or kindergartenincluding those who already have relevant assessment document  from MPPC/PMPC (Criteria 3)

Vicinity to the future Pilot Resource Center
Given the close functional connection between the Pilot Schools and Kindergartens on the one hand, and the Pilot Resource Centers geographical vicinity has been added to the selection criteria.

Based on the criteria for the selection of pilot schools and kindergartens  and in close cooperation with the main project beneficiary the project proposes to select a new/additional pilot schools and kindergartens in 5 pilot regions:
