INCLUSIVE EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN UZBEKISTAN

The International Forum is timed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of UN Convention «On the Rights of the Child» as well as a 10-year functioning of the National Center for Social Adaptation of Children (NCSAC) as one of the main institutions in the implementation of optimal mechanisms of social protection for children in Uzbekistan.

One of the objectives of the forum was to address issues of social protection, social adjustment, development and integration into society of children of socially vulnerable groups (children with disabilities, orphans and children without parental care, children at risk of social and legal).

Aimed at the interchange of innovative experiences in this field, the forum organized with a view to establishing a constructive dialogue between ministries and its departments, representatives of the Senate of Oliy Majlis and international experts. The development of strategy for further joint action in the sphere of social partnership, as well as development of relations in the field of social protection of children through inter-agency agreements, optimization of existing systems and development of new, effective methods of social partnership at all inter-agency levels is the main objective of this forum.

The role of social partnership has an increasingly important role for the development of
NGOs and other civil society institutions. Noting the importance of the priority directions of the state policy in the field of social protection for children in the development of socio-economic development programs, dealing with humanitarian problems, and protection of rights, freedoms and interests of vulnerable groups of children.

The Forum organized by National Center for Social Adaptation of Children, Ministry of Public Education, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Finance, NCCF Sen Yolg’iz Emassan, Council of Federation of Trade Unions, the United Nations Children’s Fund of Uzbekistan (UNICEF), «Kamolot» and Khokimiyat of Tashkent City.
