INCLUSIVE EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN UZBEKISTAN

On November 1 and 2, 2014 in the foothills of Chimgan, Tashkent Region, was held a seminar on the development of the National Strategy on Inclusive Education in Uzbekistan 2015 - 2017. During this seminar, participants had opportunity to visit the schools and kindergartens that already apply practices of inclusive education, to be acquainted with the project of legislative and budget analysis, discuss the resources and cooperative model of inclusive education, as well as to discuss the format of the memorandum of understanding for the implementation of inclusive education practices in Uzbekistan.

Experts attended the seminar from the Ministry of Public Education, Healthcare, Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, Labor and Social Protection, as well as representatives of National Center of Social Adaptation of Children.

Impressions shared by the Project Expert on Impact Assessment Ms. Dilyara Yusupova: «The peculiarity of the seminar is that the representatives of various ministries could gather round a table in an informal setting to establish a successful dialogue to develop both strategy and action plan. The most important thing is that the strategy must ensure the sustainability of inclusive education in Uzbekistan.

In this regards, at the end of the workshop, it was decided to optimize the above objectives of the Strategy, as well as to finalize the tasks before the next workshop, to be held in early January 2015 «.
