INCLUSIVE EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS IN UZBEKISTAN

On February 29, the project team visited the pilot inclusive schools and kindergartens in Urgench to get acquainted with the process of education of children with special needs included in the mainstream education process, as well as to determine the aspects that require a special support by the project, and barriers preventing the successful inclusion of children in social life of the school.

The delegation in the composition of international expert Mudite Reigase, expert on the legislation Yulduz Umarbekova, coordinators in Urgench and Tashkent, as well as the representative of the EU Delegation in Uzbekistan Akmal Rustamov had a talk with teachers, educators and parents of children included in the inclusive process. It was determined that there is a need for conducting the series of trainings and meetings with parents of children with special needs by the project in upcoming 6 months.
